The monsoon season has made its presence felt across Mumbai today, drenching the city in moderate rainfall and bringing both relief and disruptions to daily life. With a 97% chance of rain and gusty winds touching speeds of up to 31.7 km/h, Mumbai residents on Friday woke up to a familiar monsoon rhythm — damp streets, cloudy skies, and the distant rumble of thunder. The city recorded a total rainfall of 17.62 mm, enough to reduce visibility to 8.3 km and slow down the city’s notoriously busy traffic.
"Light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur at most places in the districts of Konkan-Goa, at a few places over South Madhya Maharashtra and at isolated places over North Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada,"
Looking ahead, the week promises a mixed bag of weather conditions. On June 21, rainfall is expected to ease slightly, with 9.3 mm of precipitation and an 89% chance of showers, reported TOI, citing private weather forecaster AQI.in. June 22 might bring the most favourable conditions for stepping out, with lighter rainfall at 5.45 mm and an 82% chance of rain.
But the break won’t last long; heavier showers are forecast to return on June 23, bringing 15.94 mm of rain. The wet spell continues through June 24 (16.21 mm) and June 25 (9.03 mm), with temperatures remaining steady between 27.6°C and 30.7°C.
