Mumbai Metro Starts Services On BKC To Acharya Atre Chowk. Check Details

The 9.83-km-long stretch is a part of the Mumbai Metro Aqua Line and the Mumbai Metro 3 Phase 2A project.

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has started train services on the newly opened Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Acharya Atre Chowk in Worli. The 9.83-km-long stretch is a part of the Mumbai Metro Aqua Line and the Mumbai Metro 3 Phase 2A project.

The Aqua Line was only operational in the suburban stretch between Aarey JVLR and BKC, which was thrown open last year. Now, 20 km of the 33.35-km Metro 3 has become operational.

The new line will reduce the travel time between BKC and Acharya Atre Chowk to around 15-20 minutes.

The BKC to Acharya Atre Chowk stretch has five stations – Dharavi, Shitala Devi Mandir, Dadar Metro, Siddhivinayak, and Worli.
Passengers will have to buy a Rs 60 ticket to travel on the line. The minimum fare is Rs 10, and the maximum fare is Rs 40 for the journey in phase 2A of the underground corridor.

Mumbai Metro Line-1 (Ghatkopar-Andheri-Versova), Metro Line 2A (Dahisar East-Andheri West), and Metro Line 7 (Andheri East-Dahisar East) are operational in suburban areas.

Mumbai Metro Red Line 9 To Begin Trial Runs

The Mumbai Metro Red Line 9 is set to begin trial runs this week along the Dahisar to Mira Road stretch. The trials will include critical assessments of train movement, signalling, communication, and safety systems ahead of the line’s eventual commissioning for public use. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is expected to flag off the first trial run.

In the first phase, the line will be operational up to Kashigaon, covering stations at Dahisar, Pandurang Wadi, Miragaon, and Kashigaon. The second phase will extend the route to Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium in Bhayandar (West).
