MP Man Convicted Of Raping His 7-Year-Old Daughter, Hangs Himself In Prison Cell Using Pyjama Cord
A Khandwa prisoner, recently sentenced to double life imprisonment for raping his minor daughter, purportedly committed suicide by hanging.
MP News: A prisoner serving a sentence in Khandwa District Jail in Madhya Pradesh was found dead in his cell on Tuesday. The convict was serving a double life sentence for raping his seven-year-old minor daughter.
The punishment was awarded just two days ago by the Khandwa District Court. The accused had been in jail for the past four years.
He purportedly hanged himself using a noose made from his pyjama cords behind his barrack and hanged himself. The jail administration sent the body of the prisoner to the district hospital for post-mortem. A magistrate reached the jail premises to investigate the incident, reported ABP News.
Minor Dies During Trial
The prisoner was convicted and sentenced just two days ago for raping his seven-year-old minor daughter. During the course of the trial, the victim passed away.
Jail Superintendent Aditi Chaturvedi said that the prisoner who committed suicide had been in jail since 2021. Two days ago, the court found him guilty of raping his own minor daughter and sentenced him to double life imprisonment. "On Tuesday, the prisoner hanged himself in the evening using the drawstring of his lower garment behind the barrack. As per the rules, an investigation into this matter has been carried out by the Judicial Magistrate," he said.
