Moradabad Farmer Found Hanging From Gate On Empty Plot: 3 BJP Councillors Among 7 Booked for Murder

A Moradabad farmer has been found dead amid a land dispute. His family has accused 3 BJP councillors and 4 others of murder. The police have filed a case and begun an investigation.

Moradabad Farmer Murder: Seven people, including three local BJP leaders, have been accused of murdering a farmer in UP's Moradabad. All three BJP leaders are councillors in the local body. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation. However, no arrest has been made yet. The incident occurred in the Majhola police station area of the city.

According to locals, panic spread in the Ramnagar Colony of Majhola on Friday when the body of a farmer, Bhup Kishor Saini (50), alias Pappu, was found hanging from the gate of an empty plot near his field. His son, Suraj Saini, alleges that on May 18, two BJP councillors — Rahul Dev Varun and Rajesh Gupta — former councillor Dinesh Sisodia, and their associates Vineet Sharma, Rajendra Devi, Pintu, and Bablu forcefully erected a gate on his father's land, claiming it was a pathway to their plot.

Bhup Kishor opposed this and even filed a police complaint. But the police took no action due to pressure from the BJP leaders, Suraj alleged. He believes this was the reason behind the murder.

Suraj Saini claimed that his father had gone to work in the field on Friday morning, and the accused murdered him and hung up his body on the gate, attempting to make it look like suicide. He pointed out that his father's feet were touching the ground, which rules out suicide, and his shirt buttons were undone, indicating a struggle before death.

The Saini family staged a protest, alleging that Bhup Kishor was murdered due to a land dispute. Considering the tense situation, police forces from Majhola and several other police stations were deployed. Upon receiving information about the incident, police officers and a forensic team arrived at the scene, began an investigation, collected forensic evidence, and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area.

Police Await Post-Mortem Report

Moradabad City SP Kunwar Ranvijay Singh stated that the police arrived at the scene after receiving information about the incident, took possession of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem. "The family reported an ongoing dispute over the empty plot and filed a complaint, accusing seven people, including three councillors, of murder. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway," he said.

"At first glance, the incident appears to be a suicide. The police are thoroughly investigating the matter. Further action will be taken based on the evidence," he added.
