UP Woman Ends Up Getting 16 Stitches After Husband Bites Lips During Argument
A woman in Mathura, UP, was bitten on the lips by her husband during an argument, resulting in 16 stitches.
A woman in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura ended up getting 16 stitches after an argument with her husband turned gory and the man allegedly bit her lips. The woman started bleeding profusely and had to undergo 16 stitches at the district hospital, said the police on Friday.
The woman was unable to narrate her ordeal verbally to the police and had to write about the entire incident on paper. She filed a complaint of harassment against her husband, brother-in-law, and mother-in-law, according to a PTI report.
In her complaint, the woman, a resident of Nagla Bhuchan, alleged that while she was working at home on Friday evening, her husband Vishnu came home and started arguing without any reason, said Station House Officer of Magoora, Mohit Tomar. When the victim asked him to calm down, he allegedly started beating her.
The woman further alleged that her husband suddenly bit her lips leaving her bleeding profusely. The woman's sister, who was present at home, tried to intervene, and the man allegedly beat her too, as per the report.
The woman went to her mother-in-law and brother-in-law to complain about her husband's behaviour but they too allegedly abused and beat her.
On learning about the incident, the woman's father took her to the police station and lodged a complaint against her husband, Vishnu, mother-in-law and brother-in-law, said the police, adding that she got 16 stitches on her lips.
The couple reportedly fought over some domestic issues, according to the SHO.
All the three accused have been missing from the house since the incident, the SHO said, adding that raids are being conducted to arrest them.
In a similar incident from December 2023, a man in Delhi injured his wife by biting her nose over dowry demands. An FIR was lodged against six members of the husband's family.
The victim, Ajmi, then 22 alleged that her in-laws beat her, and her husband Nazim injured her by biting her nose.
