A scuffle broke out at Mathura's famous Banke Bihari Mandir on Monday in which three devotees were injured. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media where the priests of the temple were seen beating the devotees.

The injured devotees filed a complaint against the temple authorities and Vrindavan police took one person into custody.

According to local media reports, a group of 17 devotees from Mumbai had come to the temple and some of them wanted to offer prasad. The scuffle broke out when the devotees wanted to offer the prasad.

Some women tried to calm the situation but they were also beaten up after which chaos unfolded inside the temple.

The police reached the spot after receiving the information about the incident and took one man into custody. The injured devotees were given medical treatment.

This is not the first time when a scuffle took place between priests and devotees at the revered temple. In a similar incident in November last year, a video went viral on social media where a huge scuffle was seen between devotees and private security personnel.
