UP CM Yogi Adityanath Appeals To Devotees To Take Dip At Their Nearest Ghat

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the devotees to take a dip at their nearest ghat and not try to go towards Sangam Nose

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the devotees to take a dip at their nearest ghat and not try to go towards Sangam Nose. He also asked devotees to follow the instructions of the administration and cooperate with them. He added that people should not pay attention to any rumours.

In a statement, UP CM said, "I appeal to all the revered saints, devotees, citizens of the state and the country to not pay any attention to rumours and act with patience. The administration is working diligently to serve all of you..."

CM Yogi said some devotees were "seriously injured" in the stampede that broke out the Sangam area of the Maha Kumbh early Wednesday as crores of pilgrims jostled for space to take a holy dip on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya.

"Between 1 am to 2 am, at the akhara route where arrangements were made for the Amrit Snan of the akharas, some devotees crossed over the barricades and were critically injured. They were immediately rushed to hospital where treatment was promptly ensured,” he said after a high-level meeting in Lucknow.

Adityanath also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda had called him up since morning to take stock of the situation.
