6 Dead, Nearly 40 Injured As Bus Carrying Maha Kumbh Devotees Collides With Truck
Six fatalities and 40 injuries occurred when a bus bound for Maha Kumbh collided with a truck in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Six people were killed on the spot while 40 others were injured when a bus going to Maha Kumbh met with an accident in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The accident happened in Sarokhanpur of the Badalpur police station area, where a double-decker bus was going to Prayagraj hit a truck loaded with rice from behind. The accident happened at 5 am on Thursday and the collision was so strong that the front part of the bus was badly damaged.
The passenger in the bus told that they were all sleeping, when the bus driver hit the truck from behind. The collision was so severs that the passengers fell forward. At the time of the accident, there were about 54 passengers in the bus. Apart from this, the driver's sister also died in this accident.
On receiving the information of the incident, DM Dinesh Chand reached the hospital with all the police officers and met the injured. The DM said, "A double-decker bus and a truck collided in the morning, in which many passengers were injured and also suffered casualties. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and the injured were admitted to the hospital. All the injured will be given proper treatment."
On February 19, one person was killed while 18 others were injured as a bus carrying Maha Kumbh devotees to Prayagraj rammed into a stationary truck on the Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh border, officials said.
The incident took place between 6 am and 7 am near Kahairjhiti village after which police personnel from Anuppur district in MP and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district in Chhattisgarh reached the spot, said a police official, reported PTI.
57 Crore Take Holy Dip
Today is the 39th day of Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, and according to the details, till 8:00 in the morning, about 35.25 lakh devotees have taken a holy dip. Overall, over 57.8 crore devotees have taken a holy dip in the Maha Kumbh which started on January 13. The Maha Kumbh will continue till Mahashivratri on February 26.
