Kolkata Doctor Rape & Murder Case: RG Kar Ex-Principal Sandip Ghosh To Undergo Lie Detector Test Today?
Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, will undergo a polygraph test on Saturday as part of the CBI investigation into the rape and murder of a junior doctor at the hospital.
Kolkata Doctor Death: The polygraph test of Sandip Ghosh, former principal of Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College where a junior doctor was brutally raped and murdered earlier this month, is likely to be conducted on Saturday. Ghosh, who is being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the trainee doctor's death, reached the probe agency's office in the CGO complex, Salt Lake.
As per sources, lie detector test equipment was set up at CBI's office in Salt Lake on Saturday. This comes after Ghosh and four other colleagues of the deceased trainee agreed on Thursday to take polygraph tests, based on CBI's request for their legal consent to use this method for verification of statements made to the agency so far.

CBI wanted to conduct a lie detector test on Ghosh, who is under the scanner for delaying the reporting of the August 9 rape and murder on RG Kar hospital premised to police, because of alleged discrepancies in his statements given to the probe agency during interrogators over the past week.
Though the results of a polygraph test are inadmissible in court, law informant agencies rely on it to find possible leads that could help them during the probe.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, a sting operation conducted by ABP News exposed significant lapses and potential corruption in the day-to-day operations of RG Kar Hospital, with allegations implicating former principal Ghosh.
A forensic expert at RG Kar Medical College claimed, "Sandip Ghosh created a syndicate, and students and teachers were disobeyed, threatened, and kept under constant pressure. He maintained a significant level of mental stress on everyone, from students to the Head of Departments."
Another doctor, who was formerly the deputy superintendent at RG Kar Medical College and is now stationed in Murshidabad, alleged that Dr Sandip Ghosh was backed by powerful political figures. "Dr Sandip has both money and power. The Chief Minister is promoting him," he said.
