Hours After ED Case, Siddaramaiah's Wife Writes To MUDA Surrendering 14 Plots Allotted To Her

The move comes hours after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) booked the Karnataka CM and his wife among others in a money laundering case linked to the MUDA land allotment case.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi has written to MUDA surrendering the 14 plots that were allotted to her. The move comes hours after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) booked the Karnataka CM and his wife among others in a money laundering case linked to the MUDA land allotment case.

"I wish to surrender and return the compensation plots by cancelling the deeds of 14 plots executed in my favour by the Mysore Urban Development Authority. I am also handing over the possession of the plots back to the Mysore Urban Development Authority. Kindly take necessary steps in this regard as soon as possible," the wife of Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said in the letter.

In her letter to Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Parvathi offered to return the 14 plots allotted to her in Vijayanagar Phase 3 and 4 in lieu of compensation for use of 3.16 acre land in Kesare Village, according to NDTV.

In the letter, she further said she was obeying the call of her conscience.

"Along with returning these plots, I also demand a comprehensive investigation into all allegations related to MUDA," she said.

The ED on Monday filed a case against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others in a money-laundering case linked to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority.

The federal agency has filed an enforcement case information report (ECIR) to book the chief minister and others, officials said.

Siddaramaiah, his wife B M Parvathi, brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devaraju -- from whom Swamy had purchased land and gifted it to Parvathi -- and others have been named in the FIR registered by the Mysuru-located Lokayukta police establishment on September 27.
