The roof of Piplodi Primary School collapsed, tragically killing at least four children in Jhalawar, Rajasthan.

At least four children were killed while several others are feared trapped after the roof of a primary school collapsed in Rajasthan's Jhalawar on Friday. The incident took place at Piplodi Primary School and rescue operations are underway to evacuate trapped children.

The injured students have been taken to Manohar Thana CSC. Upon receiving the information, Jhalawar Collector and Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Budania left for the spot, said the SP.

According to police, the collapse took place without warning, catching the students completely off guard. Four children have lost their lives, and 17 others are injured. Ten students have been referred to Jhalawar, with three to four in critical condition,” said Jhalawar Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar.

The children trapped under the rubble were rescued by a joint effort involving teachers and local villagers, who rushed to the site upon hearing the cries for help.

He directed the district administration to prioritise medical care for the injured and ensure all necessary support reaches the affected families.

"A very unfortunate incident occurred in Piplodi village, where the roof of a school collapsed. I have instructed the district collector and education officers to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured. Officials are already on the ground,” Dilawar said.

Circle Inspector Nandkishore from Manoharthana police station stated that two critically injured children were sent to a specialised medical centre, while six others remain under care at the SRG Hospital.

The school, an upper primary institution, had 27 students present at the time of the collapse, according to Station House Officer Vijendra Singh of Dangipura police station.
