J&K LG Manoj Sinha Visits Uri, CM Omar In Jammu Day After Pakistan Attack

Deputy Chief Surinder Choudhary said he reached Rajouri to review hospital arrangements.

Jammu Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Uri on Friday, a day after the town witnessed heavy artillery shelling by Pakistan. The LG will meet with soldiers in Uri and take stock of the situation. 

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah rushed to Jammu where he is taking stock of the situation after Pakistan attempted a drone attack on a military station in the city. 

On Friday morning, Omar took to X and wrote: "Driving to Jammu now to take stock of the situation after last night’s failed Pakistani drone attack directed at Jammu city & other parts of the division." 

CM Omar Rushes To Jammu

The CM reached the government hospital in Jammu to meet the people who were injured in the Pakistan shelling that took place in Poonch. 

A woman was killed and two of her family members were injured in the heavy artillery shelling by Pakistani troops near the Line of Control (LoC)in the Uri sector, said the officials on Friday. 

The Indian Army responded proportionately to the Pakistani aggression, they added. 

According to the officials, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the LoC and resorted to heavy shelling in civilian areas in the Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thursday night.

Pakistan targeted many areas of Uri, including Silikot, Boniyar, Kamalkote, Mohra and Gingle. 

Dy CM In Rajouri

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary said he reached Rajouri on Friday morning and reviewed the hospital arrangements. 

"This is not the first time Pakistan has attacked India...our people are brave...they (Pakistan) think that they can break the morale of people of India, especially J&K people, that is wrong," said the Deputy CM.

"People are standing with the Indian Armed Forces bravely...Pakistan will get a befitting reply...I appeal to people to keep up the brotherhood...," he added.
