An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar on Thursday. There are reports of three terrorists hiding in the area. The security forces have intensified a crackdown on terrorists after 26 people were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.

The firefight took place between the security forces and the suspected terrorists during a search operation following a tip-off about their presence in the Shingpora area of Chhatru, officials said.
