WFH Advised In Hyderabad As Heavy Rain Disrupts Traffic, Red Alert Issued In Telangana

In the event of heavy rain forecasts and existing red/orange alerts in Telangana, Cyberabad Police advised companies to implement Work From Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

With heavy rains forecast for Wednesday (July 23), the Cyberabad Police have issued an advisory urging companies within their jurisdiction to adopt Work from Home (WFH) arrangements for employee safety and to reduce traffic congestion. Severe storms lashed multiple districts across Telangana, including Karimnagar and Warangal. Hyderabad, too, witnessed moderate to heavy downpours between 2:30 AM and 4:00 AM, resulting in waterlogging in several low-lying areas. Red and orange alerts remain in force across northern Telangana.

Consider Work From Home: Cyberabad

In a statement released on social media on Wednesday, Joint Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, emphasised that the move is aimed at ensuring public safety, maintaining productivity and allowing emergency services to function without disruption. "Alert has been issued for heavy rains in the Cyberabad area, considering the safety, productivity, traffic congestion and to ensure uninterrupted emergency services. Companies may consider following Work from Home (WFH) mode on 23-07-2025 - Wednesday. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter," the advisory read.

The police also shared a weather update, stating that while there is no immediate end to the rainfall, steady light showers are expected across the city over the next few hours, accompanied by a significant dip in the temperatures to between 24 and 26°C.
