Hyderabad Stalker Caught On Camera Snatching Chain From Woman, Video Viral

A case has been registered and the police have launched a probe to track and arrest the suspect. The entire incident was captured on the CCTV.

In a shocking chain-snatching incident in Hyderabad, a woman was targeted by a man while she was walking alone in Alkapur Township. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the township.

The incident took place near the Alkapur Township Sports Park, which comes under the Narsingi Police Station limits. A case has been registered and the police have launched a probe to track the suspect and arrest him. The authorities are trying to identify the suspect through the CCTV footage.

In the video, the woman can be seen being followed by an unidentified man, who suddenly grabbed the gold chain she was wearing and pushed her to the ground. He escaped from the scene after snatching her chain, while the woman screamed in shock. A man, who appeared to be living in the locality, could be seen rushing out of a house after hearing the woman scream.

In another similar incident last year, a woman was dragged violently for several metres by men during a chain-snatching attempt in Tamil Nadu's Madurai.

The incident took place in October 2024, when the woman and her husband were out for shopping in Mattuthavani ahead of Diwali. After the couple's vehicle stopped on the roadside, two men approached them from behind and targeted the woman in an attempt to snatch the chain she was wearing.

The incident was recorded on CCTV, and showed how the woman was dismounting the bike, when the men attacked her. The man sitting pillion tried to snatch her chain, which did not break immediately, leading her to fall down. She was reportedly dragged for several metres by the speeding bike, India Today reported.
