Lift-Related Accidents
This incident adds to a growing list of elevator-related tragedies in Hyderabad, raising concerns about lift safety standards in residential buildings.
Last month, a six-year-old boy, Arav, lost his life in a similar accident at an apartment complex in the Masab Tank area. He was trapped between the elevator shaft and the wall and, despite a two-hour rescue operation, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
In another case, senior police officer Thota Gangaram died after falling into a lift shaft in Sircilla town. The 59-year-old commandant of the 17th Police Battalion had served in key security roles, including at the state secretariat.
