The Samta Nagar Police Station has registered a theft case and is currently searching for the accused housemaid.
A househelp was exposed for theft in Mumbai after she posted a WhatsApp status flaunting a new watch and outfit. Both items had gone missing from the couple's home where she worked, and they immediately recognised the stolen belongings from her status update.
The Samta Nagar Police Station has registered a theft case and is currently searching for Rupali Singh, the accused househelp. The police told TOI that Singh had been employed for two years by a 35-year-old man and his wife, who run an event management business in Kandivli, Mumbai. Her responsibilities included cleaning their 3BHK home and caring for their children. The couple also employed a cook.
Singh informed her employers on October 7 that she was leaving to go back to her hometown since her parents had filed for divorce. Later, on Saturday, the complainant's wife couldn't find the new saree she planned to wear for Dasera in the cupboard. To find out where the saree was, she then gave Singh a call.
