Heavy Rain Lashes Ghaziabad, IMD Forecasts More Showers In Delhi-NCR Today
Indian Meteorological Department said that most parts of the Delhi-NCR will likely receive light to moderate rain in the upcoming hours on Tuesday.
Parts of Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) including Ghaziabad received rainfall on Tuesday evening. Earlier today, the Indian Meteorological Department said that most parts of the Delhi-NCR will likely receive light to moderate rain in the upcoming hours on Tuesday.
"An animation pictures of Doppler Radar at Delhi and Lucknow from 1230-1515 IST of today, 17.09.2024 shows convective clouds associated with the depression passing over Lucknow and approaching Delhi. Light to moderate rain expected over most parts of Delhi-NCR in the coming few hours," the IMD forecast noted.

The weather department had also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over souteast Uttar Pradesh and north Madhya Pradesh due to a deep depression over northeast Chhattisgarh and adjoining Jharkhand. The depression is likely to move west-northwestwards, thereby resulting in heavy rainfall.

West UP, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Jharkhand are also predicted to receive very heavy rainfall on September 17.
The weather departement said that the capital witnessed a sunny morning on Tuesday, with the minimum temperature recorded at 24.4 degrees Celsius.
According to IMD, a cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle was forecast during the day and the maximum temperature is likely to settle around 34 degrees Celsius.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded in the moderate” category with a reading of 163 at 9 am, PTI reported citing the Central Pollution Control Board.
