Bus Returning From Maha Kumbh Crashes Into Vehicle On Prayagraj-Gorakhpur Highway, 10 Injured
On Friday morning, a collision between two buses near Gorakhpur injured 10 pilgrims returning from the Maha Kumbh.

Gorakhpur: An accident on Friday morning on the Gorakhpur-Varanasi Highway near the Sarai Chauraha in Gagaha injured at least 10 people. The accident occurred when a state bus, returning with pilgrims from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, was hit by another bus.
A second bus speeding from behind rammed into the state bus as it stopped to drop a few passengers at Sarai Chauraha near Gagaha. The collision occurred around 11 AM. The speeding bus was coming from the Raptinagar Depot.
The impact of the crash caused utter chaos on the highway. The injured were immediately taken to the nearby Community Health Center (CHC), from where some were referred to the district hospital for further treatment.
Residents of the area and bystanders played a crucial role in rescuing the injured passengers from the bus and alerting the police. The Gagha police reached the spot and, with the help of locals and ambulances, sent all the injured to the CHC. Those with severe injuries were later referred to the district hospital.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was caused by speeding and negligence. SP (South) Jitendra Kumar stated that efforts are underway to gather more information about the injured passengers, and no fatality has been reported as of now.

Amethi Accident Kills 2 Maha Kumbh Pilgrims
Friday's mishap in Gagaha follows another accident which killed 2 Maha Kumbh pilgrims in Amethi. Following the 30 fatalities at the Sangam site in Prayagraj due to the stampede, two devotees lost their lives in the road accident in Amethi.
The incident occurred when a high-speed SUV collided with a state transport vehicle. Nine passengers travelling in the Bolero were injured in the crash.
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and promptly transported the injured to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save them, two devotees were declared dead by the doctors, while the remaining seven injured individuals were referred to the district hospital in Pratapgarh for further treatment.
The accident took place near Trishundi in the Ramganj police station area as the group of devotees was en route to the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj's Sangam late at night. All the victims are reported to be residents of Siddharthnagar district.
