A massive fire broke out at a tent house godown in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Several fire tenders are at the spot. More details awaited. The fire broke out at the Lalu & Sons warehouse, which stored Kumbh-related material. The company has been involved in setting up tents for the Magh Mela and Maha Kumbh for decades. Firefighting efforts are on.

So far, there is no report of loss of life. However, the financial damage appears to be immense. The exact magnitude of the damage due to the fire would be calculated after the fire is doused.

The fire spread rapidly due to the presence of highly combustible material such as dry bamboo, tarpaulin, ropes, other cloth material, etc. The flames leapt up high and the black smoke could be seen from several kilometres away.
