Fire Breaks Out In DTC Bus In Delhi's Dwarka After Passenger's Firecrackers Ignite, 2 Injured

A fire broke out on a DTC bus in Delhi’s Dwarka area on Thursday evening after a passenger who was carrying firecrackers accidentally ignited.

A fire broke out in a DTC bus in the Dwarka area of the national capital injuring two passengers on Thursday evening. According to initial reports, the fire broke out in the firecrackers that were being carried onboard.
 
On receiving information about the incident, police officials visited the spot. The police officials said that it was found that the man was carrying a small quantity of firecrackers that caught fire in the bus and caused burn injuries to him and a co-passenger sitting beside him.
 
Nothing suggesting blast has surfaced so far, he said.Both have been taken to a hospital and further investigation is underway, the officer added. 
 
"On 31.10.24 a PCR call was received at PS Chhawla about a fire in a bus. On enquiry, it was found that a passenger was travelling in a bus carrying a small quantity of crackers. These crackers caught fire in the bus causing small burn injuries to the person carrying them and one co-passenger sitting beside him. Nothing suggesting blast has surfaced so far. Both have been shifted to IGI hospital. Further investigation is underway," DCP Dwarka, Delhi Police told ANI.
