Delhiites To Get Relief From Humidity, Rain Alert Issued

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a fresh spell of rain in Delhi. At 6 am, the relative humidity in Delhi was recorded at 80 per cent in the national capital.

Delhi Weather Update: People in Delhi-NCR have been troubled by the humid heat for the past three days. Although there has been light rain in many areas, there has been no relief from the heat. People have resorted to coolers and ACs for relief. 

On Saturday (July 5), the maximum temperature was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 27 degrees Celsius, which is above normal. According to the weather department, there is a possibility of a change in the weather in the next few days.

Rain Forecast For Delhi

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a fresh spell of rain in the national capital from July 6. There is a possibility of light to heavy rain on July 6 and 7, which may lead to waterlogging in many areas. The sky remained cloudy on Saturday evening, which indicates the possibility of moderate rain on Sunday (July 6). At 6 am, the relative humidity in Delhi was recorded at 80 per cent, which indicates the continuously increasing humidity.

According to the 7-day forecast report of IMD, the maximum temperature on Sunday will be up to 34 degrees Celsius, 35 degrees on Monday, 37 degrees on Tuesday, 32 degrees on Wednesday, 28 degrees on Thursday, 30 degrees on Friday and 38 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Amidst this fluctuation, people have been advised to be cautious about the weather, especially on days of heavy rain.

Air Quality In Delhi

Meanwhile, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has informed about the air quality that at 10 am on Saturday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi was recorded at 82, which falls in the 'satisfactory' category. According to CPCB standards, AQI from 0 to 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 is 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 is 'moderate', 201 to 300 is 'poor', 301 to 400 is 'very poor' and 401 to 500 is considered 'severe'. At this time, the air quality of Delhi is in a relatively good condition, but further improvement is expected with the upcoming rains.
