Delhi Sees Warmest April In 3 Years, Minimum Temperatures 4 Degrees Above Season's Average

The maximum temperature on Sunday was at 39.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal. The humidity levels fluctuated between 63 per cent and 38 per cent.

Delhi on Sunday saw the minimum temperatures at 26 degrees Celsius, registering the highest minimum temperature in April in the last three years. 

The last time the national capital saw such a high minimum temperature was in 2022, when it touched 26.2 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature on Sunday was 4.4 degrees above the season's average, according to the news agency PTI.

The maximum temperature on Sunday was at 39.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal. The humidity levels fluctuated between 63 per cent and 38 per cent.

The weather department has forecast a partly cloudy sky for Monday, with the maximum and minimum temperatures hovering around 40 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The capital's air quality was in the 'moderate' category at 4 pm on Sunday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 140, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.

Heatwave Likely In Parts of Country

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius over Northwest India during the next five days and no significant change in the next two days.

Meanwhile, the East India is likely to see a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 4-6 degrees Celsius over East India during the next four days and no significant change in the next three days.

The heat wave conditions are likely to occur in isolated pockets in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh from April 22 to 24; Rajasthan and Haryana on April 23 and 24; and Vidarbha on April 21 to 23.
