Delhi Police Special Cell Robbery: In a shocking incident, the Delhi Police Special Cell's own strongroom was targeted, with millions of rupees worth of gold and cash stolen. This brazen theft that has rocked the department has prompted an internal investigation. The theft occurred at the Lodhi Colony office of the Delhi Police Special Cell. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered, and a thorough investigation is underway.
Suspicion Falls on Head Constable
Preliminary investigations have focused suspicion on a former Head Constable, Khursheed, who was previously posted in the Special Cell and responsible for overseeing the strongroom. Khursheed, though transferred to East Delhi, allegedly returned to the Lodhi Colony office, stole the gold and cash, and escaped undetected.
Following questioning of security personnel, it was revealed that Khursheed frequently visited the Special Cell office. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime.
Stolen Gold and ₹50 Lakh Recovered
Police have recovered the stolen gold and ₹50 lakh in cash from Head Constable Khursheed. Further investigations are ongoing.
