Delhi: Pregnant Teen Killed, Buried By Boyfriend Over Marriage Pressure
A 19-year-old pregnant girl from Delhi was killed by her boyfriend and his two accomplices because she wanted to marry him and keep the baby.
A 19-year-old pregnant girl from Delhi was killed and buried by her boyfriend and his two accomplices in Haryana's Rohtak as the girl wanted to marry him and keep the baby.
The prime suspect, Saleem (20), masquerading as Sanju was arrested from West Delhi's Nangloi after Sonia's family registered a missing person complaint on October 23, reported the Times of India.
Her body was exhumed from a field in Madina village in Haryana's Rohtak district where she was buried by Saleem in a four feet dip pit. According to the police, Sonia was seven months pregnant.
During interrogation, the accused claimed that Sonia had started talking to another boy. He has also been reported saying to the cops that she wanted to keep the child and get married to him but he was unwilling which seems to be the prime motive behind the killing.

Based on the details given by the accused, Nangloi police recovered the body and found several injury marks on the body including some on the face. The wound marks suggest that she was subjected to physical violence by being attacked with sharp weapons before being killed.
In a complaint filed by Sonia's brother, he stated that the two had been in a relationship for about a year and that Saleem had taken Sonia in a car a day after Karva Chauth (October 21).
Saleem took two of his friends, Pankaj and Sohit also in the plan, said the police. "They hired a car, picked her up from her house early on Monday morning and drove to Rohtak. There, they consumed liquor before strangling Sonia with their hands," the cops said.
Not leaving anything to chance, the accused used a mobile charger wire to strangulate her lifeless body before burying her in the fields.

Meanwhile, Sonia's family tried contacting her but her phone was switched off. The family then called Saleem who said she did not wish to speak to them. However, during the call, Sonia's brother-in-law heard a voice in the background saying, "Dig the pit deeper."
Scared by this, the family approached the police station where they were told that the two were adults and the parents should not interfere if they wished to be with each other, according to the report. However, the cops began an investigation after the family told them of overhearing a conversation about a pit being dug.
Two accused were arrested in connection with the matter while several documents belonging to Sonia were also recovered.
