Delhi-NCR Rain: IMD Forecast Light To Moderate Rainfall In National Capital For Next Two Days

The IMD predicts light to moderate rainfall in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday's forecast includes light rainfall with winds of 30-40 km/hr.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast that light to moderate rainfall is likely in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday and Thursday. The weather body said that light rainfall activity is likely in the national capital with a speed of 30 km/hr to 40 km/hr.

The weather body has forecast rainfall for Thursday as well.

On Sunday, the national capital witnessed a dust storm and rains after the weather predicted a downpour and strong winds. The IMD had forecast that the southern parts of Delhi was likely to receive very light to light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds of 30–40 km/h, gusting up to 50 km/h.

Air Quality in State ‘Moderate’: CPCB

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 143, which falls under the 'moderate' category. This level is not considered harmful for individuals who do not suffer from asthma or other respiratory illnesses.

As per CPCB data, an AQI between 101 and 200 is categorized as ‘moderate,’ while levels above 200 are classified as ‘poor,’ ‘very poor,’ or ‘severe.’

No rainfall was recorded in any part of the capital over the past 24 hours. However, the Meteorological Department believes that expected rain and strong winds later today could help bring down pollution levels while also providing some relief from the heat.

The people are advised to carry umbrellas and light jackets, as sudden weather changes remain a possibility.
