In Delhi's Khayala, a man murdered his mother for opposing his desire to marry a girl of his choice. Read what happened next.
A shocking incident in the Khayala area of West Delhi has sent shivers down the spines of the residents of the area. The Khayala Police were expecting a routine investigation when they received a call at the police control room about a murder. However, what unfolded during the probe left them stunned.
Around 8:30 PM on Friday, December 6, a man, identifying as Sawan, called the police to report a murder. He said his mother, Sulochana, was killed for her earrings. The police, expecting a robbery-gone-wrong incident, rushed to the spot and began their investigation. However, they quickly noticed that no other valuable was missing.
Police interrogated the family and neighbours. All the CCTV footage of the area was also scanned. During the investigation, the police grew suspicious of Sawan and decided to probe a little deeper. At this point, Sawan started faltering and couldn't answer the cops' questions. When interrogated with facts, he confessed to having murdered his mother. The reason for the crime was even more shocking.
Anything For 'Love'
He reportedly told the police that his elder brother Kapil's marriage was fixed recently. He told his mother that he also wanted to marry a girl he knew. However, Sawan's mother was not happy with this revelation. She scolded him and said that if he tried to push the matter, she would disown him.
This left Sawan infuriated and he started plotting his mother's murder. He first strangled her and then turned the room topsy turvy to prepare the scene for a "robbery". He concocted the robbery story to mislead the police.
But the police saw through his lies and discovered the truth. He was then arrested.
According to the police, the deceased, 45-year-old Sulochana lived in Raghubir Nagar with her two sons Kapil and Sawan. Her husband had died in 2019. The elder son Kapil is an accountant in a private company; Sawan was a goods vehicle driver.
