CRPF Sub-Inspector Injured In IED Blast In Jharkhand's West Singhbhum

A CRPF sub-inspector was injured in an IED explosion on Tuesday during an anti-Naxal operation in a forest in West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand, police said.
Subodh Kumar, the injured SI, was airlifted to Ranchi for treatment. Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said his condition is said to be stable, PTI reported.
The incident took place near Radha Poda village in Jaraikela when the CRPF personnel stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED) suspectedly planted by Maoists to target security forces.
Earlier, the Naxals started indiscriminate firing at a joint team of security forces during the operation, leading to retaliatory firing by the personnel. The anti-Naxal operation was underway, the SP added.
Three Arrested With Drugs In Jharkhand's Palamu
Three persons have been arrested with brown sugar in Jharkhand's Palamu district, police said on Tuesday. Their vehicle was intercepted during a checking at the Mangardaha Valley in Chainpur police station area on Monday night, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Madhubhusan Prasad said.
Apart from brown sugar worth Rs 12.4 lakh, police seized Rs 8.89 lakh in cash from them, PTI reported.
Two gold rings weighing around 28 gram, a gold chain, a silver ring, three mobile phones and the car were also seized.
Those arrested were identified as Manish Kumar (22), Md Toofan (20) and Chirag Kumar Singh (20), the SDPO said.
