A similar incident came to light from the Chitradurga district of Karnataka on June 3 where a cleric was arrested for allegedly raping a minor in an excuse of treating her demonic possession. The cleric hailed from Uttar Pradesh, was in practice at a local mosque where the girl had been attending Quranic studies for three years.
According to police, the cleric visited the house of the girl and assured her of the treatment.
