Char Dham Yatra Suspended For 24 Hours As Heavy Rain Continues To Lash Uttarakhand
Instructions have been given to halt pilgrims in Haridwar, Rishikesh, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Sonprayag, and Vikasnagar to ensure their safety during the adverse weather conditions.

The Char Dham Yatra has been suspended for the next 24 hours as in view of the heavy rain alert Garhwal Division Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey told ANI. Police and administration officials have been instructed to stop the pilgrims in Haridwar, Rishikesh, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Sonprayag and Vikasnagar, Pandey said.
This precautionary step has been taken for the safety of life and property, the Commissioner said.
The administration of the concerned districts has been put on alert, and relief and rescue teams have been activated, he added.
Pandey said that decision regarding further travel will be taken after reviewing the weather conditions and routes. Devotees have been asked to follow the guidelines issued by the administration and not leave for the travel sites till the weather becomes normal.
