Bihar Weather Alert: Relief From Heat Likely As IMD Issues Storm & Rain Alerts

Bihar is enduring extreme heat, but the IMD forecasts relief with strong winds, rain, and thunderstorms on Saturday in several districts. A yellow alert is issued for humidity in South Bihar.

Bihar Weather Update: Bihar is experiencing scorching heat. Both people and livestock are suffering from the intense heat and humidity. Temperatures are reaching record highs. However, the India Meteorological Department's (IMD's) forecast offers some relief. A warning has been issued for strong winds, rain, and thunderstorms on Saturday, May 17.

There's a likelihood of rain with thunder and lightning in West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, and Katihar.

According to the IMD forecast, winds may reach speeds of 50-60 kilometres per hour. This change in weather may lead to a drop in temperature. On Friday, May 16, Dehri was the hottest place, with heatwave conditions persisting for a second day. The maximum temperature recorded was 43.4 degrees Celsius. Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Patna on Saturday, with no significant temperature change expected. However, a warning for thunderstorms and rain has been issued for Patna and the surrounding areas.

Six districts in South Bihar will experience severe humidity and heat. Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, and Arwal are among these districts and a yellow alert has been issued for these regions.

According to the weather department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some Bihar districts over the next three days.
