Tejashwi Yadav Attacks PM Modi Ahead of Bihar Visit, Says 'State Was Cheated in Budget'

PM Modi is releasing Kisan Samman Nidhi, transferring funds to 9.8 crore farmers. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized the govt's handling of farmers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar's Bhagalpur today, where he will release the 19th instalment of Kisan Samman Nidhi, which prioritises the prosperity of farmers.  He will also address a public rally at the Airport Ground, ahead of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.

As per the details, PM Modi will transfer an amount of Rs 22 thousand crore for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi to the accounts of about 9 crore 80 lakh farmers. Last time 9 crore 60 lakh farmers got its benefit.

Speaking on PM Modi's visit to Bihar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that nothing has been done for the farmers of the state by PM Modi, and added that the farmers have been ruined by inflation. "Bihar has been cheated in the budget", he said.

The former deputy CM said, as quoted by news agency ANI, "There are elections in Bihar. Now, this year, the elections will be held in Bihar. I had said that after the Delhi elections, everyone will march to Bihar. But Bihar gave them a chance to run a double-engine government for 20 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been at the centre for 11 years. Nitish Kumar has been the Chief Minister for 20 years. Bihar is at the bottom in terms of literacy, per capita income and per capita investment. Bihar is at the bottom in farmers' income. Bihar is number one in unemployment, migration, poverty. It is a good thing that the Prime Minister is coming. But when he comes, he makes false promises, cheats the people of Bihar... Nothing has been done for the farmers. He used to say that he will double the income of the farmers. The farmers have been ruined by inflation. Bihar has been cheated in the budget..."
