Bihar Shocker: Couple Found Shot Dead Inside Home In Madhepura, Police Suspect Double Murder

A couple was found shot dead inside their home in Bihar's Madhepura; the daughter’s call led to a grim discovery. Police suspect a double murder; a probe is underway with forensic teams and dog squads.

A couple was found dead late on Thursday night, July 3, 2025, inside their home in Damgara Tola, Rajni Ward No. 14, under the Murliganj police station area of Madhepura, Bihar. The discovery of the bodies triggered panic in the locality. Preliminary observations suggest they were shot, but confirmation awaits postmortem results.

The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Dinesh Das and his 45-year-old wife Bhuliya Devi, both vegetable vendors at Prasadi Chowk. The motive behind the suspected double murder remains unclear, and the local community is in shock. Police have launched an investigation and sent the bodies for autopsy.

Daughter's Phone Call Uncovers Crime

According to the couple's daughter, she tried calling her mother multiple times on Thursday evening but received no response. Worried, she asked a neighbour to check on them. When the neighbour arrived and opened the door, they found the couple lying in a pool of blood.

The police were immediately alerted. Murliganj SHO Ajit Kumar reached the scene and sent the bodies to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Officers also questioned local residents, but no leads have emerged so far.

ASP, Dog Squad Join Investigation

Additional SP Pravendra Bharti also visited the crime scene. He confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway. Forensic teams, including the technical cell and dog squad, have been deployed to gather evidence. Authorities have assured that the case will be solved soon.
