Leopard Caught Days After It Was Seen Crossing Road In Bengaluru's Tech Hub

A leopard was spotted strolling in Bengaluru's Jigani area a couple of weeks back. Officials suspect that this is the same leopard.

A leopard that was spotted crossing a road in Bengaluru's Electronic City, a hub of many tech companies, last week has been caught. The five-year-old leopard reportedly moved from the Panak India Company area to the Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) ground. People in the area were put on high alert after a CCTV camera video of the wild cat crossing the road surfaced.

A couple of weeks back, a leopard was spotted strolling in Bengaluru's Jigani area. Officials suspect that this is the same leopard. After the sighting, the Leopard Task Force started making announcements and searching for the leopard in the Electronic City area. The Task Force made announcements near the toll gates and started a search for wild animals.

The Karnataka Forest Department earlier informed that the Bengaluru Urban division officials were making all efforts to track the leopard. The department also requested citizens not to panic and said the situation is under control.

Recently, a leopard was spotted near a house in the Chikka Togur region, which is surrounded by NICE Road. Last year, the forest department officials tracked a leopard in the city's outskirts at Kudlu Gate near Electronic City and tried capturing it. They set up a cage to tranquilise and trap the animal, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Ultimately, they were forced to shoot the leopard.
