The fire spread quickly due to flammable materials and some stall owners alleged that the fire brigade was informed but it came around 40 minutes after the fire was reported.
The Fire Brigade Arrived Late
As the fire broke out, the traders themselves swung into action by taking buckets of water to extinguish the flames. After a while, the fire brigade arrived and contained the blaze.
Some traders also claimed that there was no firefighting system at the fair and they themselves tried to put out the fire.
The affected traders also alleged that no one picked up the phone even after calling the fair office and no one from the administration was present when the fire broke out.
According to them, the incident happened after a fire was lit for cooking at the stalls. The fire broke out from there and spread.
