Air Hostess Raped By Pilot Near Mumbai After Returning From London

The pilot and the air hostess lived in Mira Road, though in separate accommodations. Upon arrival in Mumbai, the pilot reportedly requested the woman to accompany him to his house.

A 23-year-old air hostess working with a private airline has accused her colleague, a pilot, of raping her at his residence in Mira Road near Mumbai earlier this week. The incident allegedly occurred shortly after the two had returned from an international flight to London.

According to police, both individuals lived in Mira Road, though in separate accommodations. Upon arrival in Mumbai, the pilot reportedly requested the woman to accompany him to his house before she returned to her own home.

Once they reached his residence, the woman discovered that no one else was present. She has alleged that the pilot then sexually assaulted her.

A case has been registered at the Navghar police station under relevant sections. The accused pilot is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him.

Authorities have assured that the matter is being handled with urgency and sensitivity. Further investigation is in progress.

Bank Employee Loses Rs 10 Lakh In Cyber Fraud

In another incident, a 68-year-old retired bank employee from Navi Mumbai allegedly lost Rs 10 lakh to cyber fraudsters who impersonated officials from the telecom department and the Mumbai cyber cell, police said on Saturday.

According to investigators, the woman received phone calls on July 15 and 16 from two unknown mobile numbers. The callers falsely claimed that she was under investigation for serious offences, including money laundering and smuggling of human body parts.

“The fraudsters introduced themselves as government officials and convinced the victim that her accounts were being monitored,” a police official said. “They manipulated her into believing that transferring her money for verification would help clear her name.”

Fearing legal consequences, the woman followed their instructions and transferred Rs 10 lakh to a bank account provided by the accused. She was told the amount would be converted into fixed deposits temporarily for investigation purposes.

However, after growing suspicious, she contacted the actual authorities, only to discover there were no such charges or investigations pending against her.

A case has been registered, and technical surveillance is being used to trace the suspects. “We are in the process of tracking the phone numbers and verifying the bank account details used by the fraudsters,” the officer added.

Police have urged citizens to remain cautious and report suspicious calls immediately, especially those invoking fear or urgency in the name of official procedures.
