Top Five Valued Firms See Market Cap Surge By Rs 85,582 Crore; LIC Leads The Charge

Top Five Valued Firms: Among the top gainers were RIL, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, SBI, and LIC. However, TCS, ICICI Bank, Infosys, HUL, and ITC faced significant erosion in their market valuations

Five of India's top 10 most valued firms collectively added Rs 85,582.21 crore in market valuation last week, driven by a positive trend in equities. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) emerged as the biggest gainer. Om June 13, the BSE benchmark Sensex climbed 299 points (0.39 per cent), hitting an all-time high of 77,145.

Here are the top gainers and losers

Among the top gainers were Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, and LIC. However, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), ICICI Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, and ITC faced significant erosion in their market valuations. Collectively, these five firms lost Rs 84,704.81 crore in valuation.

Key Highlights

LIC

The valuation of LIC surged by Rs 46,425.48 crore to reach Rs 6,74,877.25 crore, marking the highest gain among the top-10 firms.

HDFC Bank

The market capitalisation (Mcap) of HDFC Bank increased by Rs 18,639.61 crore, bringing its total valuation to Rs 12,14,965.13 crore.

Reliance Industries

The company Added Rs 10,216.41 crore to its valuation, now standing at Rs 19,98,957.88 crore.

State Bank of India

SBI saw an increase of Rs 9,192.35 crore in its mcap, reaching Rs 7,49,845.89 crore.

Bharti Airtel

Its valuation went up by Rs 1,108.36 crore, totaling Rs 8,11,524.37 crore.

Decliners

Hindustan Unilever

The valuation dropped by Rs 22,885.02 crore to Rs 5,82,522.41 crore.

TCS

The Mcap tumbled by Rs 22,052.24 crore, settling at Rs 13,86,433.05 crore.

Infosys

Lost Rs 18,600.5 crore in valuation, now at Rs 6,18,030.37 crore.

ICICI Bank

Declined by Rs 11,179.27 crore, with a new valuation of Rs 7,77,795.90 crore.

ITC

Saw a reduction of Rs 9,987.78 crore in its valuation, now at Rs 5,38,216.34 crore.

Current Standings

Reliance Industries remains the most valued firm among the top 10, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, LIC, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, and ITC.
