The history of disaster management in India reflects a journey from reactive relief measures to a comprehensive and proactive approach that emphasises preparedness, mitigation, and resilience. Among many turning points, a particular one came in June 2016, when the Central government rolled out the National Disaster Management Plan (NDMP).
