The Varalakshmi Vrat will be observed on the last Friday of Sawan, which is August 16, 2024. Varalakshmi, meaning the bestower of boons, is worshipped during this vrat. It is believed that those who observe this vrat and worship the Goddess of Wealth (Laxmi ji) will not face financial difficulties throughout the year.

Varalakshmi Vrat 2024: Significance 

The desire for wealth is universal. It is said that Friday is dedicated to Maa Lakshmi, but the last Friday of Sawan is considered the most auspicious for worshipping the Goddess. This vrat is primarily observed in Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. Performing the vrat is believed to bring prosperity and unity within the family, and eliminate poverty from one's life, ensuring a happy life for generations.

On this day, one should worship the form of Goddess Varalakshmi seated on a lotus flower in the Kshira Sagar, adorned in white clothes and holding a lotus flower in her hand. This is believed to bring stable wealth and immovable property.

Varalakshmi Vrat: Daan

To please Goddess Lakshmi, one should donate items like jaggery, sesame seeds, rice, kheer, saffron, turmeric, salt, and clothes to the needy on Fridays in the month of sawan. Additionally, worshipping cows and feeding them fodder is also considered auspicious.
