Andhra Pradesh: Fire Accident At Kancharapalem Police Station, Two-Wheelers and Car Engulfed In Fire

Over two dozen vehicles, including two-wheelers, an auto rickshaw, and one four-wheeler, parked in the premises of Kancherapalem police station in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam caught fire accidentally on Sunday.

“The court disposal vehicles and unclaimed vehicles caught fire in the Kancharapalem Police Station premises. The police have taken up the investigation and several CCTV footage of the station premises are being examined,” Visakhapatnam Deputy Commissioner of Police Anand Reddy said, as quoted by ANI.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, said the police.

Earlier, a Vande Bharat Express train was damaged after stones were pelted at its coach in Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The glass pane of a coach of Vande Bharat Express was damaged near Kancharapalem in Vishakhapatnam and the incident took place during maintenance.

According to officials, a probe has been launched by the divisional railway manager. The official further added that stones were pelted during the maintenance process as the said Vande Bharat train was going to the coach maintenance center at Marripalem from Visakhapatnam Railway Station after the completion of the trail run.

Notably, this is the eighth Vande Bharat Express train, a semi-high-speed train that can run at a speed of 160km/hour in less than 140 seconds.

Andhra Pradesh BJP State President Somu Veerraju condemned the stone pelting incident on the Vande Bharat train in Visakhapatnam.

According to the ABP Desam report, Somu Veerraju said that the Centre has ambitiously brought the Vande Bharat special high-speed trains to various regions of the nation as part of the growth of railways. Veerraju claimed that some people have attacked because they could not stand the increasing popularity of the trains. He demanded the state government immediately conduct a high-level investigation and punish the accused.
