Andhra Pradesh: CM YS Jagan Flags Off 175 Veterinary Ambulances For Livestock Welfare

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a fleet of 175 mobile ambulance veterinary clinics (MAVCs) at the CM camp office in Tadepalli on Thursday

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a fleet of 175 mobile ambulance veterinary clinics (MAVCs) at the CM camp office in Tadepalli on Thursday. The government has established MAVCs, under the 'Dr YSR Sanchaara Pasu Aarogya Seva' initiative, to provide improved access to medical and veterinary services at the doorstep.

In Phase 1, the Andhra government invested Rs 143 crore on 175 ambulances, with the remaining 165 vehicles costing Rs 135 crore to be launched in the second phase. Out of 340 ambulances, the chief minister flagged 175 vehicles in the first phase, each for one assembly constituency.

All emergency services, including artificial insemination and early veterinary diagnostics, would be handled by the ambulances. In the event of an emergency, these ambulances will also perform the 'Hydraulic Lift' service, which will lift animals and transport them to the nearest government veterinary hospital.

People can call a toll-free number, 1962, for immediate medical aid in an emergency. Currently, these ambulances are located in the suburb of Mustabad, near Vijayawada. These will be made available at the rate of two per constituency.

"We are implementing revolutionary programs to ensure safety and security for human health and livestock health," CM Jagan said. Each veterinary ambulance is equipped with a veterinarian, veterinary diploma assistant, driver cum attendant, a small laboratory equipped with a microscope to perform 20 types of manure tests, 15 types of blood tests, all types of vaccines, medicines and a hydraulic facility to load the animal into the vehicle.
