He said that the government had spent Rs 419 crore on Matsyakara Bharosa over the last 35 months, benefiting thousands of people.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy disbursed Rs 108.75 crore into the accounts of 1,08,755 fishermen families, crediting Rs 10,000 each, under the YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme, on Friday.

Addressing the people at a meeting in Muramalla of I. Polavaram Mandal in Konaseema district, CM Jagan said that the YSR Matsyakara Bharosa programme was started to help the fishermen struggling to make a living during the lean season from mid-April to mid-June. He said that the government has spent Rs 419 crore on Matsyakara Bharosa over the last 35 months, benefiting thousands of people.

Taking a dig at TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan said that during Telugu Desam Party's rule, the fishermen were ignored and asked the people to notice the difference between the previous government and the present government.
