Rashtriya Janata Dal's Md Nematullah won Barauli assembly seat in 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections by a margin of 504 votes. Runner-up Rampravesh Rai of Bharatiya Janata Party bagged 61186 votes. Third position was held by GJDS's Anirudh Prasad Urf Sadhu Yadav while Mukesh Kumar Rai of Independent held the fourth spot.
