Toll in Iran-Iraq earthquake rises to 530
Tehran [Iraq], November 14 (ANI): At least 530 people were killed and over 8,000 others injured in the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that rattled the border region between Iraq and Iran late on Sunday, according to the latest report of Iran's state news agency.
The epicentre of the earthquake was near the border, 20 miles southwest of the city of Halabjah in Iran.
Kermanshah was the worst-hit, as many houses were reduced to rubble, according to Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
To oversee relief and rescue efforts, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday reached the province, where the victims had been complaining about lack of food, water and tents.
Over 200 aftershocks have hit the region since Sunday quake. (ANI)
