Kuwait warns Gulf crisis risks national security

Kuwait City (Kuwait) , Oct 25 (ANI): Kuwait's emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah has warned that the Gulf crisis jeopardise national security.

The emir puts across the concern, while addressing the opening session of the National Assembly, as per Anadolu Agency.

In June, four member states of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) viz., Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain accused Doha of sponsoring terrorism and cut off diplomatic and trade ties with Qatar.

The four countries presented a list of demands for Qatar as condition to end their sanctions, or imposition of more penalties otherwise.

The conflict has put a question mark on the future of GCC.

Kuwait, which is also a GCC member, made attempts to resolve the conflict, but to no avail.

"We are moving to prevent the Gulf house from destruction and collapse," he said, going on to warn that the collapse of the GCC "will be a collapse of the last stronghold of the joint Arab action".

Meanwhile, Qatar has denied the accusations and maintrains that the blockade violates international law. (ANI)
