IS, Taliban conduct insurgency with similar ideology: Dr. Abdullah
Kabul [Afghanistan], November 17 (ANI): Drawing similarities between the Islamic State and the Taliban, Afghanistan's Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah said both terror outfits were conducting insurgency in an identical manner.
Not much disparity is existent between the two groups and both ceaselessly bring upon losses to the Afghan people, Khaama Press quoted Abdullah Abdullah, as saying at an event hosted by the Afghanistan service of the Voice of America (VOA).
Abdullah Abdullah said that the only difference he could see is that the IS does not operate across Afghanistan, whereas the Taliban does.
Abdullah also said relations between Kabul and Islamabad are still strained due to the presence of the terror safe havens on the latter's soil.
Afghan officials are of the belief that the Taliban and the Haqqani Network use Pakistani soil as safe havens to launch attacks in Afghanistan.
Abdullah also said, "The Afghan Government supports Washington's call to further increase New Delhi's role in Afghanistan. (ANI)
