This Team To Play A 6-Day Test Match Instead Of 5, Decision Taken Due To This Reason | Sports Live
In international cricket during the 1900s, six-day Test matches were common, especially in England, where teams played for five days with a rest day in between. Though this format is rare in modern cricket, a six-day Test match has now been announced. Sri Lanka Cricket revealed the schedule for their Test series against New Zealand, beginning in September. The first match, from September 18 to 23, will be a six-day affair due to Sri Lanka's presidential elections on September 20. On that day, the match will pause and resume the following day. The second Test of the series, starting September 26, will follow the standard five-day format.
