Sri Lanka's crisis may be overcome if the central bank is independent: Governor | Ground Report
Nandalal Weerasinghe, the recently appointed Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, expressed confidence in the country's ability to overcome the unprecedented economic crisis, saying that one method to do so is to allow the central bank to operate autonomously. He went on to say that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had granted him the authority to operate the bank on his own, and that he had also instructed him to speed up efforts to bring the country out of its crisis.
