Saamana: How Shiv Sena's mouthpiece became significant in Maha politics
Saamna, the Marathi-language newspaper which serves as the mouth-piece of the Shiv Sena, has played a key role in the Maharashtra's politics. With the newspaper, Sanjay Raut who is also a senior party leader, launched several tirades against the BJP government, during the political conundrum after election results.
The paper was launched on 23 January 1988 by Balasaheb Thackeray, the founder of the Shiv Sena.
