Rajkot Gaming Zone Fire: Death toll rises to 28, CM Bhupendrabhai Patel visits incident site

At least 28 people were killed after a massive fire swept through a gaming arcade teeming with people enjoying summer vacation outing in Gujarat's Rajkot city on Saturday evening, said the officials, adding that the toll is likely to rise. Among the deceased are four children under the age of 12, said Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vinayak Patel.   

The blaze erupted at a structure built using metal and fibre sheets at around 4:30 pm after which relief and rescue operation was launched at the affected game zone which has been underway for over six hours, according to officials. The structure collapsed due to the huge fire, they added.
